Unlike liquid tyre sealants, Formula X Gel based tyre sealant is a Thixotropic Propylene Glycol based gel when correctly installed is designed to form a permanent 2mm coating inside the tyre. This coat evenly distributes the gel across the tyre thus becoming a part of the tyre itself. Unlike liquid sealants this does not move in the tyre and supports tyre balancing. Rim Corrosion
Formula X Gel tyre sealant has infact non corrosive properties and will prevent rim corrosion. A point to be noted here however is that if correctly installed Formula X Gel tyre sealant will form the coat on the inner surface of the tyre. It is not meant to come in contact with the rim.

The thixotropic suspension has the ability to stretch and recover under mild to severe exposure of the adverse forces and continuously clings to the inner surface of the Tyre /wheel. This ability to evenly coat the inner surface against adverse conditions and centrifugal force is the reason that Formula X Gel tyre sealant will not adversely affect a balanced Tyre /wheel and will not lose the ability to provide protection for the tread life of the Tyre.
